The philosophy of the Northfield Boys Basketball Association is to provide a high quality basketball experience that provides all participants with a positive experience from K-12 grades; inspires each player to continue to play and develop their skills; and teach life lessons through positive interaction and sports.
This site has information for our in-house (1st to 6th grade) and travel (4th to 8th grade) boys basketball programs.

General Decision Making Guidelines:
The NBA will be following the same MDH/MDE Decision Tree that the Northfield Public Schools are using. Please see the link here: https://www.health.state.mn.us/diseases/coronavirus/schools/exguide.pdf
STAY HOME IF YOU ARE SICK OR HAVE COVID SYPTOMS. If your player tests positive for COVID-19 notify NBA President Steve Fox at email@example.com so that proper contact tracing and notifications can be made, if needed.
Please note that if your player test positive for COVID-19, in accordance to the Decision Tree above, they will need quarantine and be absent from basketball activities for 10 days starting the day after the test was administered. If your player is a "close contact" to someone who has tested positive they will need to quarantine and be absent from basketball activities for 14 days from the date of last contact. Players will not be able to 'test out' sooner that these time frames.
Practice Guidelines and Procedures:
Due to the Northfield Public School policy, only players and coaches are allowed into the school buildings during any practice/scrimmage sessions. Therefore, parents MUST pick up and drop off curbside or from outside the building doors. Coaches will be at the doors to let players in and will accompany them to the doors for them to exit. Each facility will have a designated drop off and pick up door that they players will need to use. These doors will be communicated.
Players MUST wear a mask upon entering the buildings, until they step foot on the court to begin play and again once play is completed while they are exiting the facilities. While playing masks can be removed, but players are allowed to keep their masks on for the entirety of practice if they choose. Players will also need to use hand sanitizer as they enter and exit the buildings.
Players are encouraged to bring their own basketballs to practice. If you do not have a basketball, one will be assigned to Travel players for the season to be returned along with your uniform in good condition. Please make sure that your player's basketball is the appropriate size for their age level (4th grade-27.5, 5th/6th-28.5, 7th/8th-full sized men's ball). Coaches will be provided a game/scrimmage ball that will be disinfected intermittently as it is used. In-House basketballs will be disinfected between each session, as they are used.
Players should bring their own water bottles, as water fountains will not be available.
PLEASE help us to enforce and follow these guidelines. Doing these things will provide us with the greatest chance to keep the season going as long as possible!

Registration is NOW CLOSED. Please check the Registration page for information regarding the season. We look forward to seeing all Travel players at tryouts Saturday, Oct. 10th at the times listed below. We will continue to update the webpage and facebook as well as communicate via email as plans for the season progress.
2020 Shot Club registration is now open! This year since we are all staying at home due to COVID-19, we have decided to start in April to give players some extra time to get outside, do some Phy Ed activity and work towards their goal!
5,000/10,000 SHOT CLUB is offered for players looking to make a bigger commitment to their shooting in the off-season. Players are encouraged to get out to dribble and shoot as much as possible to not only keep up on skills but improve upon them! This is a great opportunity for players to do so and get recognized for their hard work. The shot club consists of two shooting routines, working on a variety of shots and drills! See the shot club flyer for the detailed plans!
Click on the Shot Club page link below to find the online registration and shot routines.
**The Shot Club page also has extra drills and video links suggested by the Varsity coaching staff!**
Although we can’t hold the event in it’s usual format NBA would still like to offer a social golf outing for all who would like to participate on Thursday, July 23rd at 1pm at the Northfield Golf Club. This year golf registrations will include a box dinner in lieu of the sit down dinner and program. We will also be taking good will donations as families and businesses are able instead of actively fundraising for this event as we know many in our community have been impacted by the current world events. All donations received will be used to keep 2020-21 season costs as low as possible for our NBA families. See the Golf Page for additional details. With questions, contact Leah Driscoll at NBARaiders.firstname.lastname@example.org
The Registration "Boys Teams" is not currently available.
A HUGE thank you to all who came out and participated or volunteered at the golf scramble! An extra thank you to our golf committee, sponsors/donors and Willinger's Golf Course!
These boys, who participated in the NBA 5,000/10,000 Shot Club demonstrated dedication to improving their game in the off season. Great job to these NBA players!
